Veena Malik beat Anjelina Jolie and Magen Fox on world sexiest women list

Bollywood starlet Veena Malik leaves behind Hollywood hotties in world’s sexiest women list. She has broken all the past records and has made her mark in the list. She has beaten Hollywood Babes like Kim Kardasian, Britney Spears, Anjelina Jolie, Camaron Diaz, Megan Fox , Paris Hilton as well as her Bollywood counterparts like Poonam Pandey , Sonam Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty in a magazine poll.

Veena Malik said,

10 things Pakistanis hate to hear

One of the biggest disadvantages of living in a nation as homogeneous as ours is that it is very seldom that you get to hear alternative narratives on history, religion, culture and society in general. People who try and present narratives that are different from the main stream are labelled as agents, heretics or even worse, traitors.

Here I have made a list of ten things that average Pakistanis just don’t want to hear.

The Dark Knight Rises: The grand saga comes to an end

Nolan is an artist that transforms a comic into something more gothic and profound than we ever imagined possible.

Encompassing current affairs from the Occupy Wall Street movement to terrorism, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises delivers a relevant political message. Although, based on a fictional comic book series, the film’s concerns are very real and thought provoking from which it establishes itself as the story of our generation. With grand expectations pinned onto the last installment of the Batman trilogy, it was at high-risk of over-anticipation but it really came through and boy, was it with a bang. There’s a storm coming, Mr Wayne,” whispers Anne Hathaway into Bruce Wayne’s ear, “You and your friends better batten down the hatches, ’cause when it hits, you’re all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large, and leave so little for the rest of us.”

Bollywood, Please stop demonising Muslims

The relationship between Pakistan and India has always been a challenge because of the cultural and religious differences.  However, both governments are trying to promote diplomacy and are trying to formulate resolutions regarding the Kashmir dispute. We must not disregard the ‘Aman ki Asha‘ initiative either, where decisions like releasing prisoners and making amends is being employed. What should be scrutinised and acknowledged is that the media has a great role amidst all of this.

The Veil as an accentuation of Beauty

The image you see above is based on one of my very first experiences in Saudi Arabia. With the naked beaches of Barcelona a not too distant memory, I headed down to the Arabian Gulf for a dip. There, I became mystified by something black and obscure out at sea. It looked like a huge jellyfish. Then, as it approached closer, I realised that it was in fact a woman.

Sports: Why the U-19 disaster is bound to occur again?

Pakistan under-19 cricket team’s dismal performance in the ongoing Under-19 World Cup shouldn’t come to us as a surprise.

The state of affairs of sports in Pakistan has been such lately that this was bound to happen eventually. Having said as much, we still feel disappointed because of the recent excellent performances by our U-19 team in the event. While Pakistan’s senior team had their worst World Cup campaigns in 2003 and 2007 (they came back home after the first round on both occasions), the U-19 team brought home the World Cup in 2004 and 2006. They were semi-finalists in 2008 and runners-up in 2010.

Social Issues: Porn in Pakistan, Why Popular?

It’s late at night and the hands of the clock signal that it is just past midnight. The whole family is sound asleep with the sole exception of a young man sitting on the bed, with the laptop right in front of him. To anyone, including his family, it seems as if he’s studying, or working on an important project, or checking out the latest headlines online or watching innocent, comical clips on YouTube. All it takes is a peek over the shoulder and all is not what it seems.

Movies: Seven Samurai

he Magnificent Seven, A Fistful of Dollars, Star Wars, A Bugs Life, The Usual Suspects, Reservoir Dogs, Sholay, and Anand. What do these diverse films have in common? The answer is surprising: they were all inspired by the films of Japanese director, Akira Kurosawa. Some of them, in fact, are direct remakes – and the list doesn’t end here, there are many other films by Eastern and Western directors that are inspired largely or in part by Akira Kurosawa.
