Bugatti 16C Galibier

Bugatti 16C GalibierPresented at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept, the Bugatti 16C Galibier will soon be ready for purchase. The company confirmed that they are working on the production version of the super sedan.
With a W16 engine and a displacement of 8.0 liters, the Galibier will come laden with a two-stage supercharger system. Italdesign-Giugiaro is working closely withBugatti to design the sedan taking inspiration for the exteriors from the torpedo-like Type 35, while inducing design nods from the Type 57.
Although the entire car will be constructed with carbon fiber, aluminum will be used to for the doors and fenders. We are quite certain that Bugatti will go all out on the interiors for the car with the most expensive wood and leather and combining it with a contemporary LCD center display.
Considering the Veyron’s cost of $1.7 million, we are pretty sure the 4-seater street scorcher will be way above that price tag.

‘Pakistan is the biggest threat to India’s World T20 hopes’

NEW DELHI: A talented Pakistan and a swashbuckling West Indies will pose the biggest threats to India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s dream of lifting his second Twenty20 World Cup title, according to former skipper Sourav Ganguly.
Under Dhoni, India won the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007 and lifted the 50-over World Cup on home soil last year.

he first day frenzy was unbelievable and unseen in Mumbai multiplexes, the likes of which we have heard, used to happen for Ashok Kumar’s film in the 1950s and in the Eighties for Rajesh Khanna films.
Released on a national holiday, August 15, India’s Independence Day, Salman Khan starrer Ek tha Tiger (ETT) had the looks of a crowd puller extraordinaire. Seventeen shows per day were being screened at most multiplexes totaling 1,250 shows a day in Mumbai alone. It is said that Rs90 ticket were sold by black marketers for Rs750 and for lack of car parking space, genuine ticket holders had to park their cars on the roads and walk to the theatre.

The heavy burden of Rimsha

I recall that my grandmother, when she was still alive, would dutifully sift through the pages of her Urdu newspaper, searching for extracts from the Quran. “It’s very disrespectful” she would somberly remark, before whipping out a pair of scissors and clipping out the offending portion. “Who knows where these papers end up after they’ve been read.”
Painstakingly, she would collect all the myriad papers accumulated at our house which contained fragments of Quranic verse: flyers, newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, and God only knows what else. I don’t precisely recall what ‘respectful’ means she found of disposing of all that material. Perhaps there’s still an unopened drawer somewhere, stuffed with all of it.

Long march to Waziristan would take place at all costs: Imran Khan at EID Milan Party in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: -- While reiterating his determination to hold a long march to troubled Waziristan next month, Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Imran Khan has said that this mammoth march will expose to the whole world the human killings being perpetrated by the US who is unabatedly violating the international laws and directly attacking the very sovereignty of Pakistan.

What if Music is Banned?

Words of wise men can reveal shadowed truths, as sudden lighting on a dark, starless sky, to a person wading through the deep waters of life in difficult times.

Written two centuries back, about a tumultuous event in Europe, the French Revolution, these words of Dickens: “…we had everything
before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way,” can resonate
familiarly in Pakistan.

“Clubbing”- a Modern Version of “Dogs and Indians Not Allowed”?

Clubs, as they are called, are for the elite. For those who can afford to be members. They should either be able to buy the memberships worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Or, they should be spoilt rotten by multi-national companies who are willing to give them these memberships as the ultimate status symbols. Depending on the person’s financial standing, he has a membership in the upper rung elite clubs. And even among these elite clubs, there are levels and rankings. To attend the Annual Ball of the top most club, or to be able to mention that “I go to such and such club’s gym” is a social statement in itself. One has to go through a rigorous process of interviews and recommendations and what not to get admitted into these cliques.

PTI Seriously Overrated

ptiA fashion symbol , networking opportunity, safe association & the right thing to do. This is what everyone think about PTI . For me it is a little different . For me it is like an old wine in a new bottle , group of people who never had a political identity in the past , refuge for ousted leaders and just another washing machine of your past political sins. You may differ but this is my opinion and would try to elaborate.

If you can't Marry, don't date

We often fall in love without thinking much about our differences that may result in a sad ending.
Not all love stories have a happy ending, nor can any of us foresee the fate of our love. Ye, I believe that sometimes the actors of the love story are not entirely committed to the beautiful end at all – they have no desire to get married but are just in the relationship to have a good time.

Veena Malik beat Anjelina Jolie and Magen Fox on world sexiest women list

Veena Malik beat Anjelina Jolie and Magen Fox on world sexiest women list
Bollywood starlet Veena Malik leaves behind Hollywood hotties in world’s sexiest women list. She has broken all the past records and has made her mark in the list. She has beaten Hollywood Babes like Kim Kardasian, Britney Spears, Anjelina Jolie, Camaron Diaz, Megan Fox , Paris Hilton as well as her Bollywood counterparts like Poonam Pandey , Sonam Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty in a magazine poll.
Veena Malik said,

10 things Pakistanis hate to hear

One of the biggest disadvantages of living in a nation as homogeneous as ours is that it is very seldom that you get to hear alternative narratives on history, religion, culture and society in general. People who try and present narratives that are different from the main stream are labelled as agents, heretics or even worse, traitors.
Here I have made a list of ten things that average Pakistanis just don’t want to hear.

The Dark Knight Rises: The grand saga comes to an end

Nolan is an artist that transforms a comic into something more gothic and profound than we ever imagined possible.

Encompassing current affairs from the Occupy Wall Street movement to terrorism, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises delivers a relevant political message. Although, based on a fictional comic book series, the film’s concerns are very real and thought provoking from which it establishes itself as the story of our generation. With grand expectations pinned onto the last installment of the Batman trilogy, it was at high-risk of over-anticipation but it really came through and boy, was it with a bang. There’s a storm coming, Mr Wayne,” whispers Anne Hathaway into Bruce Wayne’s ear, “You and your friends better batten down the hatches, ’cause when it hits, you’re all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large, and leave so little for the rest of us.”

Bollywood, Please stop demonising Muslims

The relationship between Pakistan and India has always been a challenge because of the cultural and religious differences.  However, both governments are trying to promote diplomacy and are trying to formulate resolutions regarding the Kashmir dispute. We must not disregard the ‘Aman ki Asha‘ initiative either, where decisions like releasing prisoners and making amends is being employed. What should be scrutinised and acknowledged is that the media has a great role amidst all of this.

The Veil as an accentuation of Beauty

The image you see above is based on one of my very first experiences in Saudi Arabia. With the naked beaches of Barcelona a not too distant memory, I headed down to the Arabian Gulf for a dip. There, I became mystified by something black and obscure out at sea. It looked like a huge jellyfish. Then, as it approached closer, I realised that it was in fact a woman.

Sports: Why the U-19 disaster is bound to occur again?

Pakistan under-19 cricket team’s dismal performance in the ongoing Under-19 World Cup shouldn’t come to us as a surprise.
The state of affairs of sports in Pakistan has been such lately that this was bound to happen eventually. Having said as much, we still feel disappointed because of the recent excellent performances by our U-19 team in the event. While Pakistan’s senior team had their worst World Cup campaigns in 2003 and 2007 (they came back home after the first round on both occasions), the U-19 team brought home the World Cup in 2004 and 2006. They were semi-finalists in 2008 and runners-up in 2010.

Social Issues: Porn in Pakistan, Why Popular?

It’s late at night and the hands of the clock signal that it is just past midnight. The whole family is sound asleep with the sole exception of a young man sitting on the bed, with the laptop right in front of him. To anyone, including his family, it seems as if he’s studying, or working on an important project, or checking out the latest headlines online or watching innocent, comical clips on YouTube. All it takes is a peek over the shoulder and all is not what it seems.

This show is more about connecting with audiences. The superb success of the show can now be termed as a historical success after its big leap on the small screen.

Movies: Seven Samurai

he Magnificent Seven, A Fistful of Dollars, Star Wars, A Bugs Life, The Usual Suspects, Reservoir Dogs, Sholay, and Anand. What do these diverse films have in common? The answer is surprising: they were all inspired by the films of Japanese director, Akira Kurosawa. Some of them, in fact, are direct remakes – and the list doesn’t end here, there are many other films by Eastern and Western directors that are inspired largely or in part by Akira Kurosawa.

Afraid of Marriage? How to Save A Marriage after an Affair?

Love, care, affection and an intimate marriage relationship all revolve around one knot and that is trust, a blind trust on each other. What, if your spouse is making love and romance other than you? Obviously, regression, deep sadness, mistrust and infidelity are the feelings that take root. All happy marriages and intimate relationships are based on trust and believe that your partner will never ever deceive you and never break your blind trust.
But what happen if your spouse is taking interest in someone else? He seems careless from family, and his responsibilities? Same is the case with husband. If his wife is interested in someone else and having an affair with another man, he is going to be dead and insane. At this turning point, the couple may feel separation tendencies and one might think about how to save a marriage after an affair.

Fashion: Stylish Shorts for Summer 2012

With the summers in full spring, the time has come for men to start wearing stylish shorts to enhance their look. There was a time when most guys shrugged off their shoulders when they were told that shorts should be part of men’s wardrobe. However, men’s shorts underline the preppy look that every man wants. But the big question remains unanswered. What kind of shorts should one wear to draw attention towards oneself?

Mathira’s wardrobe malfunction: Nudity or modernity?

“It wasn’t part of the show. It was an accident!” pleaded designer Sanam Chaudhri after the scandalous Mathira fashion faux pasat her showcase on day one of Fashion Pakistan Week.
Chauhdri spoke in Mathira’s defense saying “I felt so bad for her, and she started crying the moment she got off the ramp.”
But when something of this nature happens with a personality like Mathira (whose last name is Scandal) people most likely assume that it was deliberate.

Can the PPP actually win 2013 Elections?

Top 10 Most Powerful People of the World in 2012

Power has been an issue unresolved till date because it’s power that we run after that can be in any form or shape. Powerful people do have an influence over the affairs of the world which means that the world takes dictation from them. Dictators are, in my words, the most powerful people for their ability to rule without popular vote from public. Dictatorial regimes are now back in huts and the most powerful dictators have vanished away so the place is open for popular people to be called powerful people in the world. The balance of power is the term that is used to stabilize the world and these are the influential characters to make world run properly. Let’s have a look at the most powerful people in the world.

Here a list has been provided of those movies. These movies were not regarded as the best movies of their times but they are also regarded as the best movies of all times because their idea, work, story and direction is so nice and so perfect as it would be difficult for someone to ignore them. The Coaching Debacle

PCBThis week has been a busy one for all the eligible coaches for Pakistan’s national cricket team. A statement which sounds almost a
like a joke considering the lack of professionalism while talking about the national team of a sport that runs through the veins of our
nation. A rumor spread out that Mohammad Akram had surprisingly been appointed the bowling coach of our cricket team, while the likes of Shoaib Akhtar “The Rawalpindi Express” and the legend Wasim Akram have been ignored in spite of the fact that both of these pace masters expressed willingness and availability to coach the national team and help the cricket board groom the younger fast bowlers.

May I Ask Mr. Imran Khan?

EmNo wonder, Pakistani politicians are used to issue such reckless statements to give cover to their political moves or policies. In a recent statement after the terrorist’s attack on PAF Base Minhas, Kamra, PTI (Movement for Jusitce) chief Imran Khan has said:

Real facts about SKMT Endowment Fund

Real facts about SKMT Endowment Fund / Shame on PML-N - By Sheikh Zakir ElahiRecently leadership of Muslim League made some allegations which can be simple deemed shameless, baseless and without any merit or truth. One wonders what the real object behind this baseless allegation was. What will PML(N) gain by tarnishing the reputation of one of the finest not for profit institution in Pakistan where 75% of poor cancer patients get free treatment?

India only wants Kashmir, not its people

I belong to the generation of the 90’s; a time when struggle for the independence of Kashmir was passing through its bloodiest phase. A few months before it all started, I was enrolled in a prestigious school in Srinagar, but my education started at home.
As one of my former principal writes in his memoirs – which appeared in the school magazine a few years later – we had only 60 working days that year ─ the rest of the year was consumed by curfews, crackdowns, and strikes. Living in a posh colony shielded me from the outside world; I couldn’t see what was happening outside my fortified home, but even walls couldn’t stop the voices of freedom pouring into my life.Like any child who recites nursery rhymes, I recited my own,

Rural to Runway

Rizwan Beyg in his Karachi home
Most people in Pakistan confuse ‘ethical’ for ‘ethnical’ but the term ‘ethical’ should acquire the clarity and visibility of a neon sign now that it is gaining steam across the world. It can be incredibly pertinent to Pakistan and Pakistani fashion especially. What do ethics have to do with fashion? More than you think.

Who is better -- girls or boys ?

Whenever girls and boys gather at a place, a very controversial and oft-heard argument arises, ‘Who is better — girls or boys?’

Why Pakistanis lost faith in Democracy?

A recent poll of six Muslim countries revealed that Pakistanis by far were the least likely to favour democracy. Compared with Turkey, where 71 per cent of the respondents favoured democracy, only 42 per cent of Pakistanis held the same view.

The silence surrounding Pakistan’s most serious threats

There’s been much discussion lately about the “water kit,” a mysterious contraption that a purported Pakistani engineer insists will enable cars to use water as fuel.
Yet missing from this debate is a basic but critical fact: Pakistan is dangerously water-deficient. Per capita availability hovers just above the scarcity threshold of 1,000 cubic meters. In several decades, availability could plummet to 550 cubic meters.

So even if this bizarre water car somehow defied the laws of physics and managed to work, it would be unsustainable — unless it used the Arabian Sea as a giant filling station, or guzzled bottled water

How long can I tell lies to my children?

“This is the story of a little boy and his mother who were poor but honest,” I told my sons when they asked for a story. “His father was dead, so they lived on whatever money his mom brought home, working as a domestic help.”
Although I had a wide range of stories to choose from – fairy tales to Alif Laila, I decided to tell them a positive story from my homeland, a land they have not yet seen but are keen to know about.
When I was a child, I thought there were plenty of positive stories. Now I am not so sure. Are you?
On Eid day, the mother said to her son: “Wake up, beta, it’s time for Eid prayers.”
“Didn’t she go with him to the mosque?” asked my son Ramiz.
“No, she had to clean up their little hut and prepare something for Eid,” I lied.
I did not tell him that in my country mosques are for men only.

The Partition of Laughter

Movie Review: Ek Tha Tiger

Once upon a time, a “Tiger” nearly got loose. He got nabbed by the government and was shipped back. End of story.
In Ek Tha Tiger, the new Salman Khan movie, still rollicking from renewed fandom set afire by Wanted we see a man on a mission: an Indian intelligence agent, gone rouge by love —an organic chemical reaction with emotional results that shows little of itself in producer Yash Raj’s mega-blockbuster that spins across multiple international locations without relevance; but then again who counts frequent flier miles when one’s smitten. Right?!
