ISLAMABAD: -- While reiterating his determination to hold a long march to troubled Waziristan next month, Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Imran Khan has said that this mammoth march will expose to the whole world the human killings being perpetrated by the US who is unabatedly violating the international laws and directly attacking the very sovereignty of Pakistan.
“The long march to Waziristan would take place at all costs… we would not budge on this mission. We are going to create history as none of the political parties of the country has ever taken any initiative to show solidarity with the innocent and peace-loving people of tribal regions, who have always played a vibrant role in the defence of of Pakistan,” Imran said this while addressing an Eid-Milan gathering here at a local hotel.
The reception, co-hosted by Dr. Shehzad Waseem Advisor to PTI Chairman on Foreign Political Parties and Mian Khurshid Kasuri Senior advisor on Foreign affairs, was attended by PTI President Javed Hashmi, a large number of personalities from diplomatic circles, party leaders and workers especially from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and the twin cities of Rawalpindi-Islamabad.
Without mincing any word, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that PTI will never let any individual or foreign power play with the fate of Pakistan who has a very important geostrategic position in the region.
“We are not against any state, but we can be against policies of a state. We are a peace-loving nation and want to give peace a chance to prevail in the region especially in Pakistan,” he explained without naming the US and its policies.
Mentioning the international critical issues of Kashmir and Afghanistan, he said that solutions to these issues do not lie in military options rather initiation of political dialogues is the best way out to ensure a lasting peace in these troubled regions.
About the economic stability of Pakistan, Imran Khan said that taxes and duties are the main source of income for a government to run the state affairs. But these taxes cannot be imposed on masses by force. “The government of Pakistan needs to first restore confidence of the masses that their taxes are being used for the development and welfare of their homeland and are not being used to purchase palaces for an individual in foreign countries.”
The PTI chairman regretted the impression being created by some political forces that he is anti-Pakistan and working for Jews and said in clear words that he has never been in any activity against Pakistan. “I’m pure Pakistani and will live and die for Pakistan.”
He said that in Pakistan PTI is the only party which is going to hold free and fair elections for its all offices at all levels across the country. “The elected leadership of every district would be having a direct role in the party tickets allocations of their respective district for the general elections,” Imran said explaining he would have no role in this regard at any level.
He mentioned that they are working for a new Pakistan and expressed his strong belief that next year we will see a new and reformed Pakistan under PTI.
Earlier, addressing the audience, Khurshid Kasuri, who has been the minister for foreign affairs for five years during the last government, said that political dialogues are the best and established mean to resolve issues between two states.
He said that the super powers after bearing huge financial losses and earning a bad repute in the world should now better understand that the use of force is no longer a solution to restore peace, rather it gives air to terrorism and militancy in addition to political as well as economic instability.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Shehzad Waseem thanked members of diplomatic community who turned up in large number and the Party leaders and workers who came from all the provinces to attend the reception.
